A dog’s-eye view. A low-profile design. Built for the mission.

Give handlers a clearer understanding of what lies ahead with a low-light K9 camera system integrated directly into Rex Specs goggles. Designed around the needs of working dogs, the system combines protective integration, minimal bulk and mission-configurable capabilities in a compact platform.

For search and rescue teams, every centimetre matters. Confined spaces, narrow passages, rubble and dense vegetation demand equipment that allows the dog to move naturally without unnecessary protrusions. By housing the camera within the goggles, Dark Systems keeps the system close to the dog’s head, minimising its profile while protecting the camera from direct contact with the surrounding environment.

The low-light camera helps handlers observe environments where available illumination is limited. Whether the dog is searching a dark interior, moving through a poorly lit structure or exploring a confined passage, the system provides a valuable visual perspective beyond the handler’s direct line of sight. In the wireless configuration, video is transmitted in real time with near-zero latency, helping the handler follow the dog’s movements and interpret the scene as it develops.

Modular illumination. Optional thermal imaging.

Extend the system’s capabilities with optional lighting modules mounted on top of the goggles. White, red and infrared illumination options allow teams to configure the equipment for their working environment. The lighting modules use a modular, plug-and-play design. They can be installed or removed whenever required, allowing the team to carry only the equipment needed for the task. Add a top-mounted thermal camera to complement the low-light visual feed with heat-based imaging. Thermal imaging reveals temperature differences and can help operators identify warm bodies, including people, when there is a sufficient thermal contrast with the surrounding environment. This additional perspective can be particularly useful during searches in darkness or when visible-light information is difficult to interpret.

Two configurations. One adaptable platform.

Hands-Free Vision for Each Team Member

The tactical monitor allows you to keep an eye on the progress of operations while maintaining control of your equipment. In an emergency, there’s no need to drop the screen to take hold of your weapon or your dog. This tactical monitor can be used by other team members to follow the situation in real time. The screen can be mounted on a ballistic shield, a backpack, or other supports. There is no limit to the number of connected monitors—each operator can receive the live feed in real time and follow the situation.

Low Profile Antennas

The tactical monitor is equipped with low-profile antennas to maintain a compact and rugged system that does not interfere with the operator’s equipment.

Comfortable Mount

Using a combination of nylon, grip and webbing materials, this adjustable mount fits comfortably around your forearm or bicep. The Boa Fit System prevents it from rotating or sliding around.

Near Zero Latency

The elimination of latency is crucial in maintaining the operational efficiency and effectiveness of K9 units. By streaming live video without time lag, handlers can respond to the actions and are sure not to miss a moment, such as a dog poking its head into a room, etc. The DarkFighter analog technology is specially designed to offer a near to zero latency video streaming in challenging environments with interferences.

Enhanced Perspective: See Through Your Dog's Eyes

The Darkfighter built-in K9 camera lets handlers see exactly what their dog sees, eliminating the skewed angles and limited views of traditional dog-mounted cameras by integrating seamlessly into the goggles for a clear, uninterrupted live feed in any environment. A back-mounted camera can’t provide this perspective — with this system, you see exactly what your dog has detected.

Battery Protection

The DarkFighter Built-In K9 Camera is equipped with an advanced Battery Management System (BMS) to ensure optimal performance and complete safety under all operational conditions. When it comes to protecting the life of a working dog, there is no room for compromise. A living being is not negotiable — that’s why safety is not an option, it's a standard. 100% Engineered by Dark Systems.

2-Way Communication

The 2-way radio module enables real-time transmission of dual video streams simultaneously — for example, from the built-in helmet camera and a secondary feed such as a thermal camera or rear-facing view, providing enhanced situational awareness and full visual coverage.
